This visit has mainly been spurred by viewpoint differences in nuclear power options and cooperation with the USA. French President Emmanuel Macron is visiting Germany in July, after being invited by German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, to honour the close relationship between the two countries in the 60th year of the Elysée Treaty.
