The IRS declaration must be submitted until 30 June, through the Portal das Finanças. There are some taxpayers who do not need to submit their tax return, such as people who have obtained an annual income from employment or pensions equal to or less than 8500 Euros.

This year, 5,045,390 tax returns have been filed with the Tax and Customs Authority, according to statistics available on the Portal das Finanças. This year's IRS campaign started, as usual, on 1 April, so taxpayers have already had almost three months to deal with this tax obligation.
