LATAM announced that it will reinforce its operation between Lisbon and São Paulo, starting in November, starting to fly 10 to 11 times a week. The daily route will be operated by the company's largest aircraft, the Boeing 777-300, which accommodates up to 410 passengers (38 in a Premium Business cabin, 50 in Economy+ and 322 in Economy). The move expands LATAM's offer of seats to the capital of Portugal by almost 90%.
According to Thibaud Morand, General Manager LATAM Europe, and reported by Publituris, this increase reinforces the air carrier's positioning in a strategic market that is Portugal. The official points out that “we have been following the growth in demand from both countries and therefore the decision to increase the frequency of flights between Portugal and Brazil, reflects the analysis of the markets and the strengthening of the strategic position in the international offer to and from Brazil”.
It should be noted that LATAM resumed its operations on the Lisbon-São Paulo/Guarulhos route in April 2021, after the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. Since then, the company has transported more than 310,000 passengers to and from the Portuguese city on board 1,400 flights.
