After an exciting boat trip off the coast of Albufeira, dolphin spotting, we stumbled upon a hidden vegan-friendly gem for lunch and dinner - Fat Cats Eatery & Pub. Located in the marina, this eatery has an unbeatable location on the promenade, surrounded by a plethora of restaurants and shops.
The waterfront terrace offers breathtaking views of the marina, making it the ideal place to unwind and observe bustling maritime activities. There is also an option to sit inside, but the real charm is dining by the marina, although the alternative terrace is slightly less intimate due to the abundance of large TV screens.
The extensive menu caters to every taste, with classic dishes such as fish & chips, hearty (vegan) chilli, flavourful (vegan) curry, juicy steaks and spicy piri piri. The separate menu features an impressive array of vegetarian options, proving that Fat Cats truly values inclusivity.
We enjoyed delicious cocktails and the house-special vegan burger salad and a colourful mix of fresh vegetables (for just 10.95).
Portions were generous, so no one was left unsatisfied.
Owners Gary and Michelle have created a welcoming place where the service, led by the friendly Joachim and Peter, exudes warmth and hospitality. For those exploring Albufeira, there is also a branch in the heart of the city.
In short, Fat Cats Eatery & Pub not only tantalises the taste buds but also offers stunning views of the waterfront. Whether you are a lover of meat food, a vegan or just looking for a relaxed place to soak up Albufeira's atmosphere, this eatery comes highly recommended.
Open all day, every day, 10:30 AM–12 AM
