“The beaches of Algodio and Foz do Lizandro-Rio were banned from swimming today after water quality analyses carried out by the Portuguese Environment Agency (APA) revealed microbiological values above reference parameters, with the water unsuitable for bathing”, says the AMN statement.
In view of the results, the red flag was raised on these two beaches in the Lisbon district.
The ban will remain in place until the results of water quality analyses indicate that microbiological values are within reference parameters.
At the beginning of August, Praia dos Pescadores, located next to the old town of Ericeira, was closed to swimming for four days for the same reasons.
