In total, Jet2 announced an additional 70,000 seats for next summer for destinations in mainland Spain, the Canary Islands and the Balearics, as well as in Portugal, Turkey, Croatia and Greece.
Lanzarote, Dubrovnik, Fuerteventura, Heraklion, Ibiza, Kalamata, Costa de Almeria, Gran Canaria, Menorca, Palma, Reus, Rhodes, Halkidiki, Tenerife, Zante, Izmir, Malaga, Alicante, Antalya, Corfu, Dalaman, Faro, Girona and Kos are the destinations that will see an increase in capacity, according to the British publication Travel Weekly.
The increased capacity will be available between the end of September and the beginning of November, departing from eight British airports, specifically Belfast, Birmingham, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford, Manchester and Newcastle.
“We are seeing strong and sustained demand for summer 2024 across all sectors, with the end of the summer season proving very popular,” says Steve Heapy, executive chairman of Jet2 and JetHolidays.
According to the official, the increase in capacity for next summer includes 24 sun and beach destinations, an increase that meets the demand of British tourists.
“By adding additional services to a number of destinations for the end of the summer season, we are offering our guests exactly what they want and we know how much they will enjoy the opportunity to escape and enjoy one last slice of summer sun,” adds Steve Heapy.
That is good news for the European climate objectives. More and more heavily CO2-emitting aircraft above Europe.
