This investment has enabled the creation of around 40 new jobs in the Greater Lisbon area and brings a unique discount offer to the neighborhood. On the opening day of the new stores, Aldi will offer shopping vouchers, in-store tastings, exclusive discounts and much more.

The Sacavém store will open today (6 December), while the opening of the Príncipe Real store is scheduled for 8 December.

The latter, located on Rua Nova de São Mamede, next to Largo, marks the opening of the sixth proximity store of the brand in the Portuguese capital, thus allowing the fulfillment of the expansion plan of this type of store outlined for 2023. With a total sales area of more than 700 m2, this is now the largest food retail store in the residential area of Jardim Príncipe Real.

Benefiting from an emblematic location, the new store aims to bring a discount offer to those who live, work or visit the center of the capital, with high quality fresh products, at an excellent quality-price ratio. In addition, Aldi wishes to provide greater convenience for all customers.

The new Aldi Príncipe Real will feature a wide variety of take-away solutions, such as soups, sandwiches, wraps or salads, as well as ready-to-eat meals, ideal for taking home or for lunch at the office.

Still with a focus on convenience, Aldi aims not only to provide a simple and fast in-store shopping experience, but also to offer the residents of this area the possibility to have the best Aldi products at the table, through Glovo's delivery service - which will be operational from the opening day.

Today (December 6th), the brand opens its doors in Sacavém, with five stores in the municipality of Loures - one of the 10 most populous municipalities in the country and the fourth with the largest number of inhabitants in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area - joining this new Aldi store to the existing ones in Infantado, Santa Iria da Azoia, Bobadela and Flamenga.

The new space is located on Rua do Estado da Índia, near Quinta do Aranha, a very familiar location for the people of Sacavém, since it was in this place where the old Sacavém Tableware Factory was located, one of the engines of industrial development in the city. In order to improve local and commercial access to the area, the construction project of this store also included the restructuring and execution of sidewalks and public lighting in the locality, as well as the construction of a new carriageway on the road, next to the new space.

The new store in Sacavém has a total sales area of 1,244 m2 and offers an outdoor car park for all customers, with 94 spaces, dog parking, bicycle rack and also a charging station for electric vehicles with two spaces, which will soon be in operation.
