The works on the Porto Metrobus will connect, in December, the sections of the Boavista and Marechal Gomes da Costa avenues, with the start of interventions at Casa da Música and the construction of the stations in January.

According to a note from Metro do Porto, "In December, the work will also cover the connection area between Boavista and Marechal Gomes da Costa avenues".

For now, "in Marechal Gomes da Costa, works are currently continuing on the left-hand road, in both directions, from the intersection with Rua João de Barros to the intersections with Serralves and Tânger streets".

"In a later phase, the right corridor of this avenue will be occupied, also on both sides. However, this intervention will be simpler to execute, since these are lanes dedicated only to cars, so fewer constraints are expected", according to Metro do Porto.

At stake is the construction of the Metrobus between Casa da Música and Praça do Império, a project that began at the end of January this year and should end in July 2024.

The investment initially planned for the Metrobus, of 66 million euros, is fully financed by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), and the remaining 10 million could also be financed by the PRR, the Environmental Fund or the State Budget.

The Casa da Música, Guerra Junqueiro, Bessa, Pinheiro Manso, Serralves, João de Barros and Império stations are planned for the first service, and in the section up to Matosinhos Antunes Guimarães, Garcia de Orta, Nevogilde, Castelo do Queijo and Praça Cidade do Salvador (Anémona) are added.
