Portugal had their fair share of chances – however, it was Slovenia who took theirs. Panathinaikos midfielder Adam Čerin opened the scoring for Matjaz Kek’s side in the 72nd minute. It only took eight minutes for Slovenia to double their lead as Timi Elšnik fired home as Slovenia won the first-ever meeting between the two nations.

Portugal still has time to prepare for the Euros in the summer, June will see the Seleção play Finland, Croatia and the Republic of Ireland before heading to Germany as they look to win their second European Championships after triumphing in 2016.
