The report was published by the Resolution Foundation thinktank on the 25th anniversary of minimum wage.
The UK's minimum wage is set for one of the biggest hikes ever as it rises from £10.42 to £11.44. But the Resolution Foundation warned that other areas of low-paid work - from job intensity to the enforcement of worker rights - have room for improvement.
The flip side isn't mentioned, but the cost of living in the UK has also increased substantially as businesses have to recover the increased cost of staffing. Try going out for dinner, even at the most run down restaurant and you can't get a decent meal for less than £40 (~50€) pp.
