According to a source from the Algarve Sub-regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command, due to the severity of the injuries, the man had to be transported to one of Lisbon's central hospitals.

According to the same source, the fire broke out at 9 am in that location in the district of Faro, with the explosion possibly caused by a gas bottle.

However, the causes behind the fire “are still unknown”, said the source.
