The judge, Mrs. Beverly McHale, did a grand job in giving the riders wonderful support and encouragement with her marking of the equitation, fancy dress and jumping classes.

Plenty of praise and good tips were given to make the event a learning experience. She was ably assisted by scribes Karin Sweeney and Teddy Coles.

The sponsors SandyBlue were on hand to present lovely rosettes all made by Jinny Harman, goody bags, and 4 prestigious trophies for the top scores.

SandyBlue have come up tops again, and have also sponsored a jump made by Carpenter Alan Holmes and with advertising plaques made by Carlos Nogueira. All the jumps were spruced up by some excellent painting by Jerry Gibbons.

The weather was kind and allowed us to enjoy a delicious lunch al fresco catered by Gisela’s team from Algarve Fine Food.

Pinetrees neighbours Dirt E bikers were on hand for those who preferred 2 wheels to four legs! Participants could try out their obstacle course which also contributed to the funds raised.

Many thanks to Elisa of Equiloulé who set up a table with lots of horsey goods to buy and Lurdes Nogueira from Epoxy lab with her art display – all lovely things.

Rotarians Peter Hinze and Uschi Kuhn welcomed D. Dora, representative from the Almancil Parish Council, and D. Sandra from ASCA and presented a cheque for €500 from the event. Many thanks must go to all who worked so hard to make the day a success.
