The top 10 of the most attractive companies are Hovione, Nestlé, Bosch, RTP, Hotéis Real, ANA- Aeroportos de Portugal, and Banco de Portugal (BdP).

Regarding sectors, the health sector stands out as the most attractive to work in, followed by the tourism, sport and entertainment, aviation, and industry sectors.

“We believe that this is a very important analysis, as it reflects the attractiveness of a company as an employer brand. Furthermore, at a time when there is so much talk about talent shortages, knowing what is most valued by professionals in an employment decision is crucial to being able to build an attraction and retention strategy”, said Raul Neto, CEO of Randstad Portugal, quoted in a statement.

What are the most valued criteria?

The salary factor continues to be the most relevant for professionals, but the degree of importance given to other criteria has been growing in the last 3 years. The 5 most important criteria when choosing an employer are:

- salary and benefits - 73%

- work-life balance - 66%

- work environment - 65%

- career progression - 61%

- job security - 59%

The study reveals that a third of respondents continue to work (partially) from home, which “demonstrates the trend towards remote work in a professional environment”. Of employees with higher education, 2 in every 5 work remotely, which contrasts with the population with fewer qualifications, where less than one in ten works remotely.

The importance given to equity has been increasing and is currently in the top 6 as the most important criterion when choosing an employer. "The truth is that less than half of workers consider that their employer meets their expectations with regard to equity", says the study. Gen Z workers also more often say they have faced such obstacles (in part because they also more often say they are a minority).
