The Ireland Portugal Business Network (IPBN) is dedicated to showcasing Lisbon and Portugal's dynamic entrepreneurial ecosystem and invites you to explore and be inspired by the country's innovative spirit. We are delighted to announce our upcoming conference in Dublin, scheduled for Thursday, June 20, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Guinness Enterprise Centre (GEC).

The conference will provide attendees with an in-depth introduction to doing business in Portugal. It will be extremely valuable for those beginning their journey in Portugal's vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem. Gain insider insights, essential information, and key contacts while networking with Irish companies already thriving in Portugal, as well as IPBN members and Executive Partners. This event will highlight the dynamism and diversity of the city's and the country's entrepreneurial scene.

We look forward to beginning the conference with words of welcome by our very own Geoffrey Graham, Chair of the IPBN Board, and by the host of the event, Niamh Collins, Director of the GEC.

The conference will feature a series of engaging panel discussions and conversations with experts, offering valuable insights for anyone interested in Portugal's innovation landscape and the business opportunities that abound.

Panel one will discuss the overarching theme of the conference, "Innovation and Doing Business in Portugal," by panelists, Stefan Goor, Group CIO at IPBN Executive Partner Ardanis, Declan Wynne, MD of IPBN Executive Partner Skanstec Engineering, and Richard Clingen, CEO of IPBN Media Partner The Portugal News. The discussion will be moderated by IPBN Board Member Rachael Milne.

The next panel, entitled "The Power of Technology Transfer and Innovation from Universities/Research Centres to Business", will gather insights from the IPBN's Academic Partners Isabel Braga da Cruz, President Universidade Católica in the Region of Porto, Sofia Almeida, Tourism and Hospitality Coordinator of the Universidade Europeia Lisbon, Aine Phelan, Head of Engagement at Tangent, Trinity's Ideas Workspace, Kathy O'Reilly, Academic Director, UCD MSc Management Consultancy. The conversation will be moderated by Carlos Justino, IPBN Member, University of Algarve TEC & Health Campus, Faro.

The third panel discussion will highlight key themes regarding doing business in Portugal through the lens of investment and tax incentives with Pedro Teixeira, IPBN board member and Senior Partner at Tax Libris, and Geoffrey Graham, Chair of the IPBN Board and Senior Partner at EDGE International Lawyers.

The fourth and final panel discussion, entitled "A Panoramic Approach to Sustainability and Entrepreneurship: Solving Real Problems for Humanity," is set to discuss the synergies and opportunities in this topic between the two countries with keynote speakers Miguel Reynolds Brandão, Founder & CEO of IPBN member company CorkBrick Europe, Liliana Domingues, Founder, CEO, and Senior Consultant at IPBN member company AMARNA Vida, Michael O’Hara, Co-Founder of IPBN member company Techies Go Green. Sam Marchetti, Founder of IPBN member company ConsortiaCo will moderate the discussion.

The panel discussions will be followed, as usual, with time for networking over a light, standing lunch. There will also be an assortment of Portuguese wines on offer!
