"We are aware that some taxpayers are receiving emails supposedly coming from AT in which they are asked to click on links that are provided", warned the authority, in a post on social media.

According to AT, "These messages are false, and under no circumstances should you carry out these operations".

In the examples given by the authority, one of the false emails indicates that "problems were detected" in the IRC/IRS declarations and, therefore, the taxpayer will be "fined". Another email redirects you to a fake call to receive the refund.
