A fire broke out this Friday morning in a historic building on Avenida da Liberdade, in Lisbon, which is being rehabilitated to make way for the luxury hotel JNcQUOI House, from the Amorim Luxury group.

The fire, which has now been contained, involved the mobilisation of 17 firefighters supported by six vehicles. The causes are not yet known. A PSP source shared that the flames originated on the third floor and spread to the other floors.

Located at 189 Avenida da Liberdade, JNcQUOI House was announced in 2021 and the first forecasts indicated that the development would open in the first quarter of 2023.

However, the opening was postponed. With an investment of 10 million euros, this boutique hotel will have 21 rooms and was formerly known as the Veneza Inn Lisbon.
