The alert was issued for the districts of Vila Real, Bragança, Viseu, Guarda, and Castelo Branco, between 12 pm and 9 pm today, where “showers, sometimes heavy and accompanied by thunderstorms”, are to be expected.
The IPMA also indicates that the thunderstorms forecast for the five districts during the afternoon and early evening today are expected to be “frequent and dispersed”.
The yellow warning, the least serious on a scale of three, is issued by IPMA whenever there is a risk situation for certain activities depending on the meteorological situation.
For the rest of the country, the IPMA points to “a lot of cloudiness until the end of the morning with periods of light rain or drizzle in some places”, light wind, and a small increase in maximum temperature in the North region.
Specifically for the Lisbon and Porto regions, the forecast is for generally very cloudy skies, with open skies from the afternoon onwards and the possibility of periods of light rain or drizzle.
