The injured included eleven firefighters, and three civilians, due to smoke inhalation.
Although all the injured were transported to the hospital, they did not require additional care, according to the 2nd regional commander of the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC), Joaquim Santos.
The flames caused some damage to an equestrian center in the town of Charneca, with firefighters removing all of the horses, 30 in total.
No housing in the vicinity was affected by the fire, which broke out at 12:19 pm in the town of Janas, in the parish of Alcabideche, consuming bush and forest.

The fight against the flames, made difficult by the wind, mobilised hundreds of operatives from various corporations in Greater Lisbon, supported by elements from the Oeste, Península de Setúbal, and Lezíria-Tejo sub-regions.
Elements of the GNR, PSP, PJ, Cascais Municipal Police, National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM), and Institute for the Conservation of Nature and Forests (ICNF) were involved in the operations.
The fire was reported to be under control at 7:36 p.m.
