In a statement sent to newsrooms, the authority stated that, in the 2023/2024 season, it was present at 22,199 sporting events of different types, with the presence of more than 135 thousand police officers.

In total, 9,285 infractions were recorded, an increase of 22.5% compared to the previous season. Of these infractions, "406 correspond to administrative breaches and 8,879 relate to incidents".

The most common infractions were the detonation of pyrotechnic articles (52.1%), followed by possession of pyrotechnic articles (9%) and damage (7.9%). However, despite the number of incidents having increased, a "sharp decrease in incidents of violence was recorded, namely offences to physical integrity, insults and threats and participation in brawls, which decreased by 62%".

Of the 9,285 offences recorded, 8,076 were recorded in the area under the responsibility of the PSP, "which is responsible for 13 of the 18 stadiums where 1st Division football matches are held". In UEFA competition events, "a high number of offences were recorded": 763 in 22 sporting events, which corresponds to an average of 34 offences per match.

"Of the total number of offences recorded in the area under the responsibility of the PSP, 6,167 occurred inside sports venues and 1,909 occurred outside, continuing the trend recorded in previous sporting seasons", explained the PSP.

A total of 767 reports of misdemeanours were recorded and 86 people were arrested. In total, 129 fans were prevented from attending events and 300 were expelled from sports venues for conduct that was contrary to the law.

The majority of offences were committed by men aged between 16 and 29. As for arrests, more than 95% of those arrested were men and the vast majority were between 20 and 39 years old.
