The Portuguese Navy has recorded a significant increase in the sea surface temperature in the Algarve in recent days. In Faro, the water reached a maximum temperature of 25.1ºC.

However, the Navy states that the record for the last 10 years has not yet been reached.

The maximum values recorded in the last decade are 26.5ºC on July 28, 2016, and 26.3ºC on September 6, 2021.
