Meanwhile, 22% of the houses for sale were on the market for between a week and a month, 28% between one and three months, 31% between three months and a year, and 9% for more than a year.
Analysing express sales - that is, residential properties that are sold in less than a week, taking into account the time the adverts remain on idealista - by district capital, it is clear that Faro has the highest percentage since 30% of houses are sold in that period.
The list of cities with the highest percentage of express house sales continues with Viana do Castelo (23%), Portalegre (18%), Aveiro (15%), Coimbra (14%), Funchal (14%), Porto (14%) and Leiria (10%). Below the national average are Ponta Delgada (9%), Guarda (8%), Braga (8%) and Setúbal (7%).
The district capitals where the fewest house sales were recorded in a period of less than a week were: Santarém (1%), Castelo Branco (3%), Viseu (5%), and Lisbon (6%).
Half of those express sales were probably owners changing their mind or the platform removing "too good to be true" listings.
