During the same period, the GNR carried out a series of operations aimed at preventing and combating violent crime, road inspections, among others, detecting 672 infractions, of which 197 were for speeding, 52 for lack of mandatory periodic inspection, 18 for lack of civil liability insurance, 23 for lack of or incorrect use of seat belts and/or child restraint systems, 21 related to anomalies in the lighting and signalling systems and 14 for improper use of mobile phones while driving.
During the period in question, the public security forces arrested 59 people, including 13 for driving under the influence of alcohol, 8 for driving without a valid license and 4 for drug trafficking.
The Faro Territorial Command of the GNR also reports that it seized 165 doses of hashish and 40 doses of cocaine.
