In statements to the Lusa news agency, the Rede Expressos communications office said that a reassessment with the authorities will be carried out at 8:00 pm.
At this time, trips between Lisbon and Porto are suspended, with the service only operating between Lisbon and Coimbra.
The operation between Lisbon and Bragança is also suspended, although the Lisbon – Viseu – Bragança connection remains in operation.
A source from the company assured Lusa that support is being given to passengers.
Around 70 people had to be evacuated and at least five properties, including houses, were hit by flames in different rural fires that broke out between Sunday and today in the North and Centre regions, according to Civil Protection.
In a press conference at 1:00 pm, the national commander of Emergency and Civil Protection, André Fernandes, indicated that evacuations were recorded in the fires of Oliveira de Azeméis, Sever do Vouga and Cabeceiras de Basto, and have been “proceeding as expected”, with the collaboration of the population.
The flames forced traffic closures on the A25, A1 (including the junction with the A41), A29, A17 and A32 motorways and on Itinerário Complementar (IC) 2, in addition to causing some railway restrictions.
