In a statement, this branch of the armed forces indicated that the NTM, scheduled for Air Base No. 11, in Beja, will feature “several flight squadrons from NATO member countries and partners”.
This annual exercise, it stressed, “represents a unique opportunity for participants to test techniques, tactics and procedures in contested scenarios, requiring solutions in multiple domains”.
According to the FAP, during the NTM 2025, “air, naval, land and ‘cyber & space’ assets will be involved”, in addition to “fifth generation elements”, with the aim of fostering “a high level of interoperability”.
The NATO Tiger Meet, created by the NATO Tiger Association, dates back to 1961.
It is held annually and involves flight squadrons from several nations that have a tiger as their symbol, with the aim of promoting cooperation and interoperability between NATO Forces and members of the Partnership for Peace.
In 2025, Portugal will host this exercise for the fifth time, after 1987, 1996, 2002 and 2021 editions, under the organisation, planning and execution of the FAP.
