“The fairgrounds will once again be spread along Avenida da República, the riverside area and Praça Marquês de Pombal, welcoming thousands of visitors, mainly Spanish, who, on October 12th, a public holiday in Spain, head to the Algarve city”, according to the VRSA City Council.

“From the entertainment to the utilities, utensils and clothes on display on Avenida da República and the riverside area, to the many food products and stalls on Praça Marquês de Pombal, there is no shortage of reasons to visit Vila Real de Santo António”, adds the local authority.

The Feira da Praia, as it has always been known, originated in the original location of the event, opposite the Monte Gordo sands, in 1765.

Later, in 1774, the year Vila Real de Santo António was founded, it was transferred to the town, with the purpose of expanding social and economic activities and promoting fishing.

On the 9th, 10th, 13th, 14th and 15th of October, the fair will be open from 10:00 to 01:00. On the 11th and 12th of October, the fair will close at 02:00.
