For the first time since the devastating 2019 fire, the eight bells of Notre-Dame rang out together this month, marking a milestone in the five-year restoration process.

The bells have resounded just a month before the cathedral’s reopening, with Philippe Jost, lead of restoration, calling it “a beautiful, important, and symbolic step”.
The Notre-Dame is expected to welcome more than 14 million visitors annually after reopening, in comparison to 12 million in 2017 before the fire.
