On a scale of 1 to 20, the municipality obtained a score of 14.4 this year, rising one position compared to the previous year and increasing the value of its rating by five-tenths”, says Marktest.

Municipal ratings are defined after analysing 39 indicators grouped by three components: demographic dynamism, economic dynamism, and quality of life. What's more: each indicator was classified with a score from 1 to 20, taking into account the municipality's position in the group of 308 municipalities in the country.

In second place on the podium is Albufeira, with 13.8 points – up two positions compared to 2023. “It returns to the place it occupied between 2018 and 2020 and in 2022, after having led this ranking in 2021”, reads the Marktest website.

Completing the podium is Cascais, with 13.7 points. This is, in fact, the best relative position in the last 10 years, surpassing the 4th place occupied in 2014, 2015, 2019 and 2021.

São João da Madeira drops two positions to 4th, with two-tenths less than last year, when it occupied 3rd position, and Aveiro, which topped the table in 2023, falls to 5th position, with 13.4 points.
