This ranking "highlights, annually, the fortune of the most powerful national families in business", which, in 2024, saw their wealth grow by almost five billion euros compared to the previous year.
Despite some changes in the first three positions, the families that occupy these places are the same as in 2023 - the Amorim, Guimarães de Mello and Soares dos Santos families, respectively.
Last year, however, the Soares dos Santos family was in second place, while Guimarães de Mello was in third place.
Fourth place remained in the Azevedo family and fifth in the Alves Ribeiro family.
Forbes Portugal highlights that the ten richest families "hold a share of €23.5 billion", which represents almost half of the total value of the 50 names on the list.
