"Due to the strike in Groundforce's services, 53 departures and 40 arrivals have been cancelled, until now, at Lisbon airport", said an official source, adding that the companies operating with other assistance companies, as well as those operating at Terminal 2 at Lisbon airport “keep their operation”.
So far, at the airports of Porto, Faro, Funchal and Porto Santo, the strike didn’t have a great impact.
ANA asks passengers with a flight scheduled for today and Sunday to find out about the status of their flight before going to the airport.
Today is the first day of the strike called by the Union of Airport Management Technicians (STHA), in protest of the "unsustainable situation, with regard to the timely payment of wages and other pecuniary components”.
In a note the union mentioned that the strike that covers SPdH (Groundforce) workers in Lisbon, Porto, Faro, Funchal and Porto Santo will take place over the weekend and from 00:00 on 31 July to 00:00 on 2 August, 2021.
