Data sent to Lusa by the GNR states that 249 fewer serious violent crimes were registered by the GNR until 11 October in relation to the same period of 2020, registering this year 1,942 against the 2,191 that occurred in 2020.
According to the police, this year the GNR registered 522 fewer violent and serious crimes compared to 2019, when 2,464 had been registered until 11 October.
The GNR also states that this year the months with the most violent and serious crimes were August (282), September (246), May (220) and July (219).
