New routes from Portugal include from Faro to Marseille, from Porto to Nuremberg and from Madeira to Dublin.
Michael O’Leary, CEO of the Ryanair Group said: "As one of the biggest investors and job creators in Portugal, Ryanair is pleased to announce the biggest schedule for Summer 2022 to/from Portugal, with 170 routes (more than double TAP), including 17 new routes from Lisbon, Faro, Porto, Ponta Delgada and our latest base in Madeira, to destinations such as Billund, Dublin, Milan and Paris.
“At a time when TAP continues to reduce its fleet, reduce jobs and close routes while wasting billions of euros in state aid, Ryanair is rebuilding tourism and creating well-paid local jobs in Portugal. We call on the Portuguese Government to put an end to the accumulation of slots that TAP cannot use in Lisbon, to open Montijo airport, to eliminate the inappropriate aviation tax (a direct tax on tourism) and even to introduce one non-discriminatory traffic recovery scheme, so that Ryanair can grow even more in the country. These actions would be a better use of Government funds, instead of wasting €3.2 billion of taxpayers' money in damages caused by TAP”.
Keep him out of Portugal Government

Ryanair may not be people's favourite airline but at least they get on with the job of doing what they say they are going to do.
