The Galicia region of Spain has included Portugal on the list of countries whose travellers are required to declare their arrival in the Spanish autonomous community as they are from territories considered to have a “high incidence” Covid-19.

Anyone arriving in Galicia after having been in one of the territories on this list during the two weeks prior to their arrival must communicate, within a maximum period of 24 hours, and register their contact details on a website developed specifically for this purpose https://coronavirus.sergas.gal/viaxeiros/ according to the resolution approved by the regional authorities.

The resolution takes effect as of January 26.

The 17 Spanish Autonomous Communities and the two Autonomous Cities in North Africa (Ceuta and Melilla) have their own powers in the field of health, which leads them to adopt very different measures in the context of the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

The updated list of Galician health services with territories considered to have a high incidence of covid-19 also includes all the autonomous communities and cities of Spain, except for six: Andalusia, Balearics, Canary Islands, Castile-La Mancha, Valencian Community and Madrid.

As for European countries and territories, people coming from Portugal, Kosovo, Denmark, Andorra, Cyprus, Faroe Islands, France, Gibraltar, Greece, Guernsey, Iceland, Ireland, Isle of Man, Jersey, Luxembourg, Monaco, Montenegro, San Marino, Slovenia and Switzerland must notify their arrival in Galicia.

The previous update, published two weeks ago, only included Andalusia in Spain and Denmark in Europe. The list of countries also includes several States in the Americas, Asia, Africa and Australia, in Oceania.

The regional government of Galicia said that the list will be updated within a maximum period of 15 days.
