The Government was counting on a decrease of 17 cents and 13 cents in the price of a litre of diesel and gasoline, respectively, as the sector source had also advanced to ECO last Friday, but the price update at the beginning this week brought drops of just 13 cents and 10 cents.
An official source from the national oil company told ECO that “it fully reflected the difference between the average prices of diesel and gasoline from last week compared to the previous week, as it does every week, both in periods of rising and falling prices”.
Despite the drop in prices having fallen short of what was expected by the government, the oil company guarantees that it is not earning more at the pumps, ensuring that its profit margin has not increased with the update of the fuel price this week.
