According to English media, the victim was a 71-year-old man who ended up having a heart attack.

Given the emergency on board, the pilot decided to make an emergency stop at Santiago de Compostela airport, in Spain. An emergency team was waiting when the plane landed, but the man did not survive.

Emergency teams tried to revive the man, but the death was declared at 21:30.

The TAP crew gave the alert after finding the man unconscious in the cabin.
