“There were no conditions for us to carry out the concerts without putting the Aliança at risk and any project in the future”, justified the president of ACAPO, Joe Eustáquio.

The official was speaking during the official opening of the Portugal Week in Toronto, in Camões square, in front of three dozen guests.

The organization had planned to resume this year the concerts at Earlscourt Park, with the presence of Miguel Gameiro, Olavo Bilac, from Portugal, and also the Portuguese-descendant singer Shawn Desman, scheduled on the 10th, 11th and 12th of June, which have now been cancelled.

The concerts have been postponed to 2023, said Joe Eustáquio, adding that “most of the payment to the artists was already made and the trips were cancelled”.
