The fact that Scotland and Wales did not have a majority was irrelevant, it was a United Kingdom vote not that of individual countries that form the Union. It is also very strange that the anti Brexiteer comments are all by those who have already left the UK to settle in Portugal so perhaps the relevance of their anti-Brexit attitude is somewhat modified by their current residence and could very well be taken with a pinch of the proverbial salt.
As to the attitude that pro Brexiteers should stay away from Portugal displays the most appalling bigoted attitude. I and my family have always been made welcome with open arms for many years by Portuguese nationals to their lovely country. We have gained friendships that will endure for a lifetime for which we are truly grateful.
In conclusion; I would mention that not once have we heard anti or pro Brexit feelings from our Portuguese friends it would seem that the only ones to partake in imposing their biased attitudes are the very small minority of remoaners that have taken residence outside the UK and with any luck will stay away from the UK for good. Perhaps they should start counting their blessings in having the facility to settle in such a welcoming country.

With the risk of sounding to be a remoaner. A term that is drenched in venom and negativity and created by those people that are as shortsighted as they are ignorant. Always and the only reason they can name for this utter failure called Brexit, is it or was based on a majority vote. I stress was because any and all subsequent polls show a complete opposite picture. Reason being is that the British people have been brazenly lied to about the why and the fantastic new country that would come out of it. Not one of the reasons presented were based on facts, just fear. All heavily coated with a sick making nostalgic view of the British Empire of old. An empire that caused most of the troubles we face in the world today and there it is to much to elaborate, just Google and you find plenty. As to no Portuguese person has a negative oppinion regarding this Brexit, I sincerely question your circle of information. Brexit was bad and is bad not for Everyone. I trust that the writer is from the UK that he so degrading regarding the results from Schotland and Wales. Typical.

Dear Sir,
We own a house in Portugal and have done so for over 30 years and love the people and the place and the idiosyncrasies of the "system". We were proud to vote to leave the EU - we were not voting to leave our friends in Europe but the corrupt unaudited EU who are now supporting Putin's war in the Ukraine. I hope that all the remoaners are proud of their tacit support for war crimes.

Dear Sir, Today is the 78th anniversary of the day that my Uncle Harry , aged 20, landed on Gold Beach driving a Hobart's funny flail tank : he carried on for nearly a year without road tax or insurance and played a small part in liberating Europe. I now find myself going cap in hand to crave indulgencies from the powers that be to visit our own property in the lands that the EU control.

Remainers: anti democratic whingers. Brexiteers: supporters of a democratic vote that saw a country wrest power from an unelected dictatorship.
