Asked by journalists about the closure of emergency services across the country, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa said that “there is a situation here that has already occurred in previous years” and has its origin in fatigue caused by the pandemic in the last two years.
However, the head of state rejected that the problem is transversal to the entire national territory and considered that it only occurs “in points where the replacement [of health professionals] is more complicated”.
