“We expect that, by the end of this year, 5G will be
effectively available to practically the entire population of the Azores, with
coverage in each of the very relevant parishes”, the executive director, Manuel
Ramalho Eanes, told Lusa.
Manuel Ramalho Eanes highlighted the “great potential” of
the 5G network and said that the company has “total availability” to
collaborate with the Azorean government in the application of that technology.
“NOS came to share with the Regional Government of the
Azores its timetable for implementation and investments in relation to 5G and
to show its full availability to collaborate with the government and all
structures, entities and institutions in the development and application of
this technology”.
The president of the regional executive stressed the
importance of having “significant coverage” of the 5G network in each of the
Azorean parishes.
