"Holidays should not be a luxury as they are crucial to ensuring the health and well-being of workers," CES Deputy Secretary General Esther Lynch said in a statement.

According to the study, the proportion of the population that cannot afford a holiday has increased in more than half of the European Union (EU) member states since 2019 and the proportion of workers without this financial capacity has grown in 11 countries.
