“It is with deep sadness that we inform you that the entire
'Wonder World Tour' by Shawn Mendes has been cancelled, which includes the show
scheduled for June 7, 2023, at Altice Arena”, reads a publication shared on
social media.
Ticket holders will be entitled to a refund of their value.
According to the promoter, “the refund process starts on July 28, 2022”.
“All online ticket buyers will be automatically refunded
within a maximum period of 30 days. For those who purchased tickets in physical
stores, you can request them at the respective place of purchase, presenting
the ticket and proof of payment, up to 30 days after the scheduled date of the
show (ending July 6, 2023)”, reads the publication.
In recent weeks, Shawn Mendes had already postponed some
dates of the current tour, which started in the United States and would later
go to Europe, due to mental health issues.
In a publication, also shared on social media, Shawn Mendes
apologises to fans for the cancellation, saying that he started the current
tour “excited to finally return to playing live after a long break due to the
pandemic”.
“But the reality is that I was not at all prepared for how
difficult it would be to tour after this time away. After talking to my team
and working with an incredible group of healthcare professionals, it became
clearer that I need to take the time I never took, to 'recenter' myself and
come back stronger ", shared the musician.
