"The Silves based Castelo de Sonhos (CdeS) was formed in 1997 and its mission is to help the poor & underprivileged living in the council of Silves. For more than a decade CdeS has been supplying children from poor families with backpacks filled with school material for the year. 2022 has been difficult for everyone and we have more families requesting help this year so any donation towards filling the backpacks, no matter how little, is very much appreciated by the charity."

Castelo de Sonhos charity has organised a back-to-school fundraiser for children in need in the Algarve. Items that are needed are: Backpacks, Reams of paper, Black A4 notebooks (plain, ruled and squared books), rulers, scissors, A4 files, pencil cases, felt-tipped pens, coloured pencils, calculator, compasses, set squares.

The dates and drop-off points are from the 21st of August to the 4th September are The Food Co in Almancil, Holiday Inn Algarve in Armação de Pera, Iceland Overseas Supermarket in Guia, Castelo de Sonhos in Silves and the Iceland Overseas Supermarket in Portimão.
