During the autumn season 2024 Carin Carlsson’s aquarelles will be presented in the showroom Rua da Silva 4 in Tavira on Thursdays: 3/10, 10/10 and 17/10 between 17.00 and 21.00.
Carin Carlsson (born 1963) lives and works in Malmö, Sweden. She primarily works with paintings, prints and sculpture, covering a broad spectrum of subject matters. Her recent project includes a series of watercolour paintings depicting root vegetables undergoing cosmetic treatment, commenting on the beauty industry, shown at Gallery Ping-Pong, Sweden 2024. Her two previous projects “The Shapes We’re In” and “Ode to Unwanted Noses” (read more at www.carincarlsson.se) comment on related issues on how to fit in societal norms.
Carin Carlsson has held about twenty solo exhibitions, including at Andrehn-Schiptjenko and Krister Fahl in Stockholm, and Bengt Adlers and Galerie Leger in Malmö. Her works are represented in institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art in Stockholm, The Gothenburg Art Museum and The Malmö Art Museum.
Art Gallery Rua da Silva in Tavira is a residency for Scandinavian artists combined with a showroom for the visiting artist’s art objects.
The intention is to highlight Tavira from a Scandinavian artist’s perspective as well as to give the artists an opportunity to be inspired by the unique ambiance of Tavira.
