The ban had been brought in
to protect the rare Crested Lark during the breeding season and left owners
risking a fine of €500 if cats were found roaming the streets without a lead
and a penalty of €50,000 if their cat killed or injured one of the birds.
Cat curfew lifted
Cats in the German town of
Walldorf are now allowed back on the streets after a temporary ban was lifted
two weeks early.
