After the announcement, SAS informed travellers of this
decision and proceeded to reschedule for other flights, a source from the
company told Reuters that these cancellations are due to the strike, but also
“to the delay in the delivery of aircraft”, admitting that “ there is no
noticeable drop in demand”.
In July, SAS transported 1.3 million passengers,
corresponding to a growth of 23% compared to the same month of 2021, causing
capacity to have increased by close to 8% compared to the same period last
year.
Compared to the previous month of June this year, the number
of passengers transported grew by 32%, while capacity fell by 23% as a result
of the 15-day strike by the pilots.
