According to Lusa, as of 11:00, no flight to or from Faro
airport had been cancelled, and the operation was proceeding normally, without
significant delays, both on departure and arrival flights.
In the departures area, some queues of passengers were
visible at check-in, but the atmosphere at Faro airport was usual for a Friday
in August, when tourism reaches its peak in the region.
According to information made available on the ANA –
Aeroportos de Portugal website, between 07:00 and 11:00 a total of 26 flights
had departed from Faro airport and a total of 31 flights had arrived, mostly to
or from the United Kingdom.
Portway warned on Thursday of the possibility of constraints
at national airports, due to the strike called by SINTAC for the 26th, 27th and
28th of August.
SINTAC called for a strike at the ground handling company, at
Lisbon, Porto, Faro and Funchal airports, starting at 00:00 on 26 August and
ending at 24:00 on 28 August.
