Taking on
this challenge with Rob are two other UK cyclists with one rider being from
London Fire Service and Dorset and the other he is hoping will be his eldest
son who was also in Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service. Additionally, an ex-Army
man is joining them part of the way. “I hoped to have three bombeiros, but
sadly they are all flat our presently and two other UK firefighters have had to
pull out due to injuries. That aside I will be doing it even if I do it alone.”
“I have
sponsorship from OneBike and G Ride bike shops in Portimão and doTERRA in which
their Healing Hands projects has secured the funding for all the cycling kits
for riders plus items to help us throughout the ride. Healing Hands is an
amazing charity and I am honoured to have them as sponsors. This we are both
hoping will be something that will grow, spreading awareness and helping more
people.”
Rob
affirmed that the best part is that that Healing Hands doTERRA will match the
funds they raise, which is just incredible. “I love being a wellness advocate
for this company and this amazing kind gesture, just blows me away, thank you.”
Rob will
also have Natural Joki Flow physio's from Portimão helping when they finish in
which he added “I'm sure there will be some very tired legs. The support
vehicles and members are from Silves Bombeiros, but again, they are far too
busy at present to confirm.”
Rob is
hoping to raise between 1500 and 2000 euros but added “I am very aware of the
crisis many are in right now too.” If you would like to support Rob, please

“Fireman's
Tired Eyes has evolved as after speaking to a good friend, he said that the
books implied it was just for Emergency Services and not everyone else, also
that the word Tired for a person suffering from depression, didn't help, so I
have changed the name to FTE which stands for Free Trauma Energy.” https://www.firemanstiredeyes.com/
Thank you for caring about our firefighters (usually called “Heroes” but expected to be “Beasts of Burden”).
