In a statement sent to the Lusa agency, Airbus Global
Business Services (GBS) recalled that after having started its operations in
Lisbon in 2021, with the hiring of about 200 people in six months, a number
that currently stands at more than 350, it reinforces "the investment it
is making in Portugal" by opening an office in Coimbra in the first
quarter of 2023 "to be closer to the potential talent to be hired".
"Coimbra stood out as the most relevant city for the
implementation of this new project due to its strategic location, transport
options and available infrastructures, as well as the presence of polytechnic
higher education institutions and universities chosen by thousands of students
to develop their training in various areas," the European aerospace
company stressed.
According to the press release, the recruitment campaign
"starts in a few weeks" and Airbus GBS seeks to hire in Coimbra
"employees in the areas of Accounting, Procurement, IT Systems, Human
Resources and Travel & Expenses".
In the statement, Airbus GBS also said it has an international
Airbus talent development platform in Europe, located in Lisbon, which has more
than 350 employees "working in the areas of Finance, Human Resources,
Procurement, IT, Engineering, Communication, Customer Service, Legal and
Compliance."
"It is one of the most diverse companies in Portugal,
with a team that represents 30 nationalities, has gender parity and an average
age of 33," it added.
The note also added that the company "offers an
attractive salary package and a full range of benefits for the professional and
personal well-being of its employees, including health insurance, 'success
sharing' practices and telecommuting equipment.
"To facilitate work-life balance, Airbus offers a
flexible working policy and also provides opportunities for mobility and
international development," he stressed.
In Portugal, in addition to the GBS 'hub' in Lisbon, the
European group has the recently opened Airbus Atlantic Portugal in Santo Tirso,
in the Porto district, which produces parts, fuselage sections and other equipment
for various models of commercial aircraft and helicopters.
"Over the past three years, Airbus has been expanding
its cooperation with Portugal, identifying new areas of work to be developed.
The strong development of activities in the country has allowed Airbus to
increase its overall investment in Portugal by 16% in the last four
years," the statement read.
