In a statement, the company that manages the Vasco da Gama Bridge said that the total closure to traffic between 00:00 and 06:00 on Tuesday “results from the need for topographic checks within the scope of the work taking place on this bridge”.

“As an alternative, we suggest using the 25 de Abril Bridge, complying with the restrictions imposed on this crossing, namely for the transport of dangerous materials (only allowed between 2:00am and 5:00am)”, indicates the company.

The Vasco da Gama Bridge connects the two banks of the Tagus between Lisbon and Montijo/Alcochete and the 25 de Abril Bridge connects Lisbon and Almada.
