Two years after being purchased, Lagoas Park will be
refurbished. According to ECO, Henderson Capital Park will invest 25 million
euros in the modernisation of that business park in Oeiras, in a project that
will be carried out over the next four years.
There are about 90 companies and 7,000 people in Lagoas
Park, which, in September 2020, was sold by British Kildare Partners to Henderson
Capital Park for 421 million euros. It was, that year, considered the largest
office operation in the country.
In 2021, the new owners started with improvements, now, for
the next four years, more works are expected in the business park, announced
Henderson Capital, in a statement.
“The project (…) will feature the modernisation of
facilities and collaborative spaces, both for visitors and employees. The
exterior areas will be remodelled, including the central square, the shopping
gallery and common areas, in conjunction with the refurbishment of the office
interiors”. And “it also reinforces the sustainability credentials”, with the
aim of obtaining BREEAM certification in all buildings”.
“This investment plan will ensure that the park remains
among Europe's top business parks and adapts to the ever-changing requirements
of national and international tenants in the dynamic Lisbon office market,”
says Ronan Webster, Director of Asset Management, Henderson Park, quoted in a
statement.
Lagoas Park is currently home to several international
companies, such as Google, Samsung, BMW, SAP, Johnson&Johnson, Sanofi,
Oracle, Cisco, Volvo, Leaseplan and BP. The modernisation project will also
include the creation of a new brand.
“Successful office parks of the future, such as Lagoas Park,
will adapt to the ever-evolving needs of all tenants, to respond to the new
working environment and provide modern facilities, with well-being concerns,
services and collaborative community spaces so that all the activities that
take place in the park can grow”.
