After Cidade do Padel, which will be opening in Oeiras in 2026, the Portuguese footballer has closed the deal for the purchase of the Lisboa Racket Centre, in Alvalade, according to a report by the New in Town website.

The Lisboa Racket Centre, located next to Parque José Gomes Ferreira, has several padel, tennis, squash, gym and bar courts, and was owned by the company Van Veggel – Campos de Tênis de Lisboa, created around 40 years ago.

Piggybacking on the growth of the sport, the company recorded profits of €287,400 last year, 34% more compared to the previous year and revenue went from around €800,000 in 2019 to €1, 3 million in 2023, according to the InformaDB company database. At the end of last year, it had a positive net position, with net assets totalling more than one million euros.

The acquisition of the Lisboa Racket Centre by Cristiano Ronaldo comes about a year after the announcement of an investment of around six million in Cidade do Padel, in a partnership with businessman Filipe Botton.

The beginning of the works was delayed due to the licensing of land with the Chamber of Oeiras, and will only begin in December to be completed in the first quarter of 2026. The plan envisages the construction and operation of a megaproject next to Jamor, for a period of 20 years, extendable for two five-year terms.
